Ludhiana, September 18

After conducting a hawan for the good health of Local Bodies Minister Brahm Mohindra outside the LIT Commercial Complex on Rani Jhansi Road, president of ‘Yuva – the Strength’, an NGO, Kumar Gaurav said they would soon meet the minister and raise issues related to the MC and the Ludhiana Improvement Trust with him.

“We said prayers for the good health of the minister so that we can meet him soon. We want to highlight issues related to illegal buildings in the city as the MC does not charge complete challan fee from violators after issuing notices. A number of illegal buildings are being constructed under the nose of MC officials. If any RTI activist files a complaint, the MC officials take action, otherwise they keep ignoring the violations,” he alleged.

He alleged that the Ludhiana Improvement Trust was planning to sell its commercial complex on Rani Jhansi Road at low rates.

“We will complain to the minister not to allow LIT to sell the complex at lower rates,” he said.
