‘Move to rename housing scheme unjustified’

Ludhiana, October 21

The move of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust to rename the Atal Apartment housing scheme in Shaheed Karnail Singh Nagar on the name of Sahir Ludhianvi’s name is uncalled for.

Trust`s former chairmen Ashok Kumar Juneja and Madan Mohan Vyas in a letter sent to the state government said it was a disrespect to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee who was a great visionary. The name of the scheme was finalised after getting sanctions from the authorities concerned. Hence, it should not be renamed. — TNS
