Minor girl dies in factory mishap

Ludhiana, September 4

A factory owner and his son have been booked under Section 304-A for causing death by negligence after a minor girl Khushboo (13) died in a freak industrial accident while working on a machine in the factory located at Focal Point, Phase IV, here on Wednesday.

The police said the girl’s dupatta got entangled in the machine and she was strangulated. Manorama Devi, a resident of Bhagat Singh Colony in Sherpur and mother of the deceased, has charged the factory owners with not providing adequate safety measures to the workers which led to this fatal accident.

Vinod Gupta, owner of Rishi Enterprises, and his son have been booked by the police. Further investigation was in progress.
