MC pulls down structure on green belt

Ludhiana, January 20

Following a complaint, a team of the Municipal Corporation today removed an encroachment from a green belt near Dholewal, Industrial Area B. It was learnt that some persons had made a permanent encroachment on the green belt for their personal use.

Building Inspector Navneet Khokhar said an structure being raised in the green belt was demolished today. However, there were a few other structures in the green belt area but a case regarding them was pending in the court.

Assistant Town Planner Satish Malhotra said: “We immediately rushed to the site and removed the encroachment. However, the persons who were raising the encroachment escaped,” he said. — TNS
