Man nabbed with illicit liquor in Ludhiana

Ludhiana: The police arrested Parveen Kumar, a resident of Captain Colony, and have seized 47 bottles of 111 Whisky from his possession in a raid conducted at the residence of the suspect on Sunday. The police said he was found waiting for customers with liquor bottles packed in a plastic bag on a vacant plot near his house. A case under Sections 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act has been registered against him. OC

One held for not verifying tenant

Ludhiana: The police have arrested a person, Hardeep Singh, a resident of Sua Road, Gobindgarh village, a caretaker of a vehra in Dhandari Kalan while leasee of the vehra Karam Singh, a resident of village Kudd, have been booked under Sections 188 and 34 of the IPC. The police have booked the suspects on the charge of keeping tenants in the vehra without police verification in violation of the orders. OC promulgated by the Commissioner of Police. OC
