Man held, stolen items seized

The Koom Kalan police registered a case against the grandson of a landlord for committing theft at the tenant’s house. The suspect has been arrested by the police.

The suspect has been identified as Manjit Singh resident, a resident of Baba Farid Colony, Kohara.

The complainant, Akhilesh Kumar, told the police that he along with his friend Sanyog live on a rented accommodation. On October 15, they slept in their room. When they woke up next morning, they found that their room was ransacked and valuables, including Rs4,000 cash, mobile phone, ATM card and some other important documents, were missing.

“We suspected the involvement of landlord’s grandson as he was a drug addict. We filed a complaint with the police and requested them to verify the role of the suspect” added the complainant.

As per information, the suspect confessed to his crime to the police during the investigation. Some important documents, Rs1,000 cash, six ATM cards, three mobile phones were recovered from him.

Meanwhile, in another case of theft, unknown thieves decamped with cash and valuables from LIG flats. Complainant Sahil Gupta told the police that on October 15, he along with his wife and mother had gone to their shop. When they returned home, the lock on the main door was found to be broken and the entire house was ransacked.

Investigating officer ASI Sukhwinder Singh said a case of theft was registered against unknown persons and the CCTV footage of the area were being checked to nab the thieves.
