Man arrested for writing offensive words on

The rural police have nabbed a man for writing offensive remarks on a ‘Shivling’ at Sri Sita Ram Temple Shivala in Jagraon. The entire episode was captured in CCTV cameras installed on the temple premises, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The suspect has been identified as Gurbaksh Singh, a resident of Jagraon.

In a statement, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Ludhiana (Rural), Vivek Sheel Soni, stated in an incident reported on Wednesday evening some offensive words in Punjabi were written on a ‘Shivling’ at Shri Sita Ram Temple Shivala in Jagraon.

An FIR was registered on the complaint of Baba Mahesh Giri, a temple priest, the SSP added. Investigation based on the CCTV footage was launched and the suspect was arrested, the SSP said. During preliminary probe, the suspect was found to be a mentally disturbed person, the SSP added.
