Ludhiana, July 1

In view of the rainy season, MC Commissioner Shena Aggarwal and MLA Ashok Parashar Pappi inspected areas of the Ludhiana Central constituency.

During a visit to Transport Nagar, MLA Parashar raised the issue of broken roads and waterlogging in the area. The MC Commissioner then directed the B&R official concerned to get the roads repaired. Regarding the waterlogging issue, the officials informed the Commissioner that a proposal was made in 2008-09 for a storm water disposal system in the area.

Aggarwal then asked officials of the O&M branch to make a fresh proposal to install the stormwater drainage system in Transport Nagar under the AMRUT scheme.

Meanwhile, the MC Commissioner instructed the officials concerned to ensure lifting of waste from near Ved Mandir, Bajwa Nagar bridge and other locations. She directed them to ensure timely lifting of waste from all secondary waste collection points.

After seeing illegal slaughtering of animals for meat at Kashmir Nagar, she told the officials to issue challans against the menace in the city.

She also inspected the ongoing project to cover the Shivaji Nagar nullah. She directed the officials to complete the work regarding the instalation of sewerage line within three days.
