Ludhiana, September 27

A city-based neurosurgeon, Dr Dipesh Batra, who founded an NGO, Lok Jagrukta Foundation, to make people aware about Covid-19 as well as precautions one needs to take to stay safe, claims that his campaign ‘’My Family is My Responsibility’’ has recently been adopted by the Maharashtra Government.

Dr Batra has now written to DGP of Punjab Dinkar Gupta, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, Rakesh Agrawal and Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and requested them to adopt the same model in the state and that his NGO will pitch in all kind of help to create awareness on Covid-19.

To combat the invisible virus, a social campaign was launched by his team in May this year.

“It is said that any good deed starts from our own home. He started this campaign with the objective of making every single individual aware of how to protect himself or herself and his or her families from this deadly virus. Under this campaign, residents of villages were made aware of all necessary steps to eradicate Covid-19,” Dr Batra added.

Due to the lockdown, poor villagers who were not able to go to hospitals were provided medicines on doorstep free of cost by his team.

Dr Batra said film stars, including Upasna Singh, Harjit Harman and Gurnam Bhullar, helped a lot to take this campaign to every house.

“It’s a proud thing not only for me and my team but also for all of us that this campaign started by him was adopted by the Government of Maharashtra. The CM of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray, launched this campaign for the citizens of his state this month,” claimed Dr Batra.

Awareness improves lives. Awareness is something that we acknowledge every single day. Right awareness at the right time has the utmost importance. Instead of looking at a wider scale, everyone should take care of his own area and eventually the spread of virus can be contained, he added.
