Ludhiana: Report sought on building violations

Ludhiana: Following a complaint regarding the alleged violation of building bylaws, Punjab State Human Rights Commissioner has asked the MC Commissioner, Ludhiana to look into the matter and submit a report before the next date of hearing. Earlier, a resident, Arvind Sharma, had alleged that parking space has not been left in a number of buildings violating the norms. In absence of parking arrangements in buildings, the vehicles are generally parked on-road portion, giving an invitation to mishaps. TNS

Book ‘Red Wine Zindagi’ released

Ludhiana: A book ‘Red Wine Zindagi’ was released by Dr Surjit Patar, Chairman, Punjab Arts Council. The book has been penned down by Ludhiana-born writer Nirmal Jaswal. The novel depicts an atmosphere which till date perhaps no novelist has presented in such clear, precise and lucid words. Nirmal said ‘Red Wine Zindagi’ will go a long way in showing a sensitive, progressive society its mirror and will also pave the way for the younger generation to understand the rapidly changing new dimensions of love. Gram sabha meetings held

Ludhiana: On the directions of Cabinet Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Amit Kumar Panchal, gram sabha sessions were started by various gram panchayats on Thursday. ADC Panchal said gram sabhas are being organised by various gram panchayats in all blocks of Ludhiana from June 15 to 26.
