Ludhiana: A budding basketball player of Nankana Sahib Public School, Gill Road, clinched gold in the 67th National School Games. Gurmat Singh, a student of Class XI, participated in basketball U-19 category for boys. Another player, Gagandeep Singh of Class XII, also got selected for the games. Now, both will try their skills in international school games. Congratulating the players and teachers behind them, the Principal Harmeet Kaur Waraich said, “The hardwork, dedication for the game and persistent practice proved fruitful for them. I wish them good luck in the forthcoming sports events.”
BVM, Udham Singh Nagar
Hardik Rawat, a student of Bhartiya Vidya Mandir (BVM), Udham Singh Nagar, has been named ‘Ludhiana Idol’ in the district level music competition organised by Ludhiana Sanskritik Samagam. The journey to this victory began with auditions held in October.
A total of 30 schools participated and 160 participants showcased their singing talent during the pre-final round. Thirteen participants, including Hardik, were chosen for the final round which was held on January 14 at Guru Nanak Dev Bhavan, Ludhiana. Hardik’s performance and undeniable talent earned him the first prize and the title ‘Ludhiana Idol’, along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Principal Ranju Mangal expressed her appreciation for Hardik’s incredible achievement.
