Ludhiana MC pulls down illegal hotel building

Following a report highlighted in The Tribune columns, “Building bylaws go for a toss in city”, the MC demolished an illegal hotel building under construction in the Jawahar Nagar camp area today. Earlier, an RTI activist had filed a complaint against this building.

The civic body also demolished two more illegal constructions. Besides, four illegally constructed buildings were sealed.

Assistant Town Planner Mohan Singh said they had received a complaint against an illegal building at Jawahar Nagar. “The rooms were being constructed in the building in violation of the bylaws. No permission was taken from the MC for the construction of the building. We demolished the building today,” he said.

“We also demolished two illegal constructions at Jawahar Nagar and Malhar Road. The constructions were taking place in violation of the building bylaws. Four illegally constructed buildings were sealed in the city,” he said.
