Ludhiana: Firm operating city bus service serves legal notice on depts

As a majority of city buses are not plying on roads for a long period, a city bus service contractor concerned has served a legal notice on Minister of Transport, State Transport Commissioner, RTA Ludhiana, ATO Ludhiana, Minister Local Government, Secretary Local Govt, MC Commissioner, Ludhiana City Bus Service Limited and Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana, for allegedly acting in collusion with private transport mafia and defrauding the public exchequer by illegally permitting private buses to ply and ferry passengers on the city bus service routes. The contractor alleged that no action was being taken to curb the menace of illegal private transport buses and autos in city.

The majority of the city buses are not plying on the roads and these have been stationed in a dilapidated condition on Tajpur Road and Hambran Road.
