DC SPEAK

With the sudden surge in Covid cases and Omicron variant threat looming large, the vaccination centres have started witnessing a rush of beneficiaries. I congratulate the health staffers for achieving 100 per cent coverage of the first dose, which is a matter of pride for the district, but our aim is to inoculate the entire eligible population above 18 years of age with both doses of Covid vaccine. Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner

Against the target population of 26.32 lakh, the state’s biggest and largest district, in terms of area and population, vaccinated 26,35,480 persons above 18 years of age with a single shot of Covishield or Covaxin, the official figures have revealed.
