Ludhiana Civil Hospital facilities inspected

ESI Director Dr Gurminder Singh along with assistant director Surinder Kaur on Thursday visited the Civil Hospital and took stock of arrangements and service being provided there.

He took a round of the OPD, flu corner, blood bank and mortuary. He expressed satisfaction on the services being provided and arrangements done on the hospital premises.

He said the inspection was done on the orders of the state government to check that healthcare services are being provided to the people.

“We are prepared for the dengue season. A dengue ward has been set up at the ESIC Hospital. Our OPD and emergency services are being run from the ESIC hospital since the pandemic started and dengue patients are admitted in the ward set up there,” he said.

When asked about the problems being faced by the patients at the ESI dispensaries, he said that he will look into the issues and make sure that they do not face any problem in the future and all their concerns would be taken care of.

To overcome the shortage of staff, doctors and para-medical staff was being recruited and the recruitment process had already been started. Nearly 500 doctors and 3,000 Class IV and paramedic staff would be recruited soon.

Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Bagga was also accompanying them and said that Health Department was committed to serve the people with best healthcare facilities.
