LIP protests ‘lack’ of Covid facilities in Ludhiana

Show comments

Ludhiana, July 28

Raising questions over the state government’s Mission Fateh, the Lok Insaaf Party (LIP) staged a protest against the government at Jagraon Bridge here today.

The LIP leader, Gagandeep Singh, alias Sunny Kainth, alleged that patients were dying without getting treatment as beds were not available at hospitals in the city.

Terming Mission Fateh as a “publicity stunt” of the state government, Kainth said a city-based businessman recently died of Covid-19 as he was not provided any bed by a private hospital.

He said the party would file a writ petition against the Ludhiana DC, the private hospital and the Chief Minister.

“The state government is spending taxpayers’ money on the publicity of Mission Fateh,” the LIP leader alleged.

“On the other hand, our brothers and sisters are dying due to lack of beds in hospitals. Human rights are being violated here. We condemned such publicity stunt by the Congress government,” he said. — TNS
