LIP leaders Baldev Singh, Jaswinder Singh Khalsa, Randhir Singh Sivia, Gagandeep Singh (Sunny Kainth) and others on Thursday participated in the protest and claimed that a woman who had levelled rape allegations against MLA Simarjit Singh Bains around four months ago had withdrawn her complaint.

During the protest, LIP leader Randhir Singh Sivia alleged: “SAD and Congress leaders had threatened the woman to lodge a false complaint with the police against MLA Bains. They had threatened to ruin the life of her children (who are living out of the country) if she did not file a complaint against Bains. It was a deep conspiracy against the MLA.”

They said the Congress and the SAD should expel those leaders from their parties who were allegedly trying to grab votes by means of dirty politics and false cases.
