Lecture on importance of innovation

Ludhiana: The Innovation Council of Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women, Ludhiana, organised a lecture on 'Importance of Innovation' under the Impact Lecture Series funded by the Ministry of Human Resource Development's Innovation Cell. Jatinder Pal Singh Manchanda, Founder and Chairman, V-MAD, was the resource person. Manchanda said keen observation, passion and self-confidence were the initial requirements for innovation. This lecture was followed by an interactive session in which students put forth their views about innovation and various other issues. Two students of BBA-III Lisha and Aartika Tondon, who are working with Manchanda, shared their experiences with students and motivated them to have trust in their talent and work hard to use their talent and create something new.

Seminar on intellectual development

Ludhiana: Sanskrit Department of Arya College organised a one-day national seminar on 'Concepts of Intellectual Development in Sanskrit Literature'. Dr Varinder Kumar, Professor, Department of Sanskrit, Panjabi University, said: "Intellect is the power which helps in knowing facts, finding relationship among facts and accessing logical reasoning. Sanskrit language has always been providing guidance in the department of intellectual capability." Dr Trilochan from Sri Saraswati Sanskrit College, Khanna, said: "Only a mind without distractions can be a true medium of knowledge." Dr Savita Uppal, Principal of Arya College, said: "Intellect should be pure and its positive utilisation should be the motto of every individual.” TNS
