Kulwinder, Shivam to lead Ludhiana teams

Ludhiana, November 22

Kulwinder Kaur, a student of Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill village, and Shivam, a student of Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Kasabad, have been selected to lead the Ludhiana girls and boys teams, respectively, in the 8th Sub-Junior Punjab State Baseball Championship to be held here on November 23 and 24. As many as 12 teams in each section will vie for top honours in the championship.

The girls’ team comprise Kulwinder Kaur (captain), Ashika Bhandari, Manpreet Kaur, Dilpreet Kaur, Sonakshi, Sanjana and Sanjali (from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Gill); Gauri Rani, Anu, Sonam Kumari, Neha, Anjali and Kumkum (from Government Senior Secondary School, Kasabad); Nilaruna and Khushi (from BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point) and Krishi Lehar (from International Public School). Jitendra Thakur and Ranjit Singh have been appointed coaches for the squad.

The boys’ team include Shivam (captain), Varis, Nishant and Chirag (from Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Kasabad); Danish, Gaganpreet Singh and Santosh (from BCM Senior Secondary School, Focal Point); Gunraj and Manvir (from Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town Extension); Ishpreet Singh and Dilpreet (from BCM School, Basant City); Harmet Singh, Gagan and Jashan (from Guru Nanak Public Senior Secondary School, Dholewal) and Vishal Yadav from Nightingale Senior Secondary School, Shimlapuri. Ravi Dutt and Suraj Chauhan have named the coaches of the contingent. — OC
