Illegal LIT land occupant, six aides assault engineer, booked

The police have registered a case against Sonu Jatt and his six unknown accomplices under Sections 353, 186 and 149, IPC, for allegedly assaulting Trust Engineer Jagdev Singh and creating obstruction in the work of government officials, who were doing their duty.

In a complaint to the police, Assistant Trust Engineer Mandeep Singh alleged that Sonu Jatt, along with a few other unknown persons, manhandled the Trust Engineer when a team of officials had gone to demolish illegal construction and remove encroachment on the Trust land behind MIG flats in Model Town Extension, Part-I.

The police are investigating, but no arrests have been made so far.

Two held, seven others booked for assault

Meanwhile, the police have arrested two persons and booked seven others in different cases of assault in the city.

The Basti Jodhewal police have arrested two persons identified as Sandeep Arora, alias Sonu, and Prince Arora, both residents of New Vishal Nagar, under Sections 323, 341, 354-A, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC on the complaint of Ajay Kumar, a resident of the same colony.

The complainant stated that the suspects had beaten up and seriously wounded his mother with a brick over a minor dispute.

In another incident of alleged assault the Basti Jodhewal police have booked seven persons identified as Golu, Billu, Vicky, Maru, Bishu, Pammi, Sahil and their accomplices, all residents of Ghati Mohalla, under Sections 323, 341, 354-A, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC for beating Vipan Khanna, a resident of New Basant Vihar Colony. The complainant stated that when he raised an alarm, his wife Poonam, daughters Jessica, Prachi, Nishta and nephew Karan Tandon, who came to his recue, were also thrashed by the suspects. The police are investigating the matter.
