GNPS students compete in track & field events

Ludhiana, February 22

Students representing different houses competed in track and field events besides fun games during the 43rd edition of the annual athletics meet of Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town, here on Saturday.

Ajit Pal Singh, assistant education officer, Ludhiana, was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. He took salute from the march past and hoisted the flag to mark the opening of the meet.

Jasbir Singh, president, GNPS committee, and its members were present on the occasion. Principal Mona Singh congratulated the position holders and advised them to take active part in games to lead a healthy life.

Annual Athletics Meet Results

Class VI and VII

  • Long jump (boys): Navpreet Singh first, Mankirat Singh second and Mandhir Singh third.
  • Long jump (girls): Ravneet Kaur first, Amreen Kaur second and Trisha Dhawan third.
  • Shot put (boys): Navpret Singh first, Mankirat Singh second and Ketan Gill third.
  • Shot put (girls): Hasman Kaur first, Simarjeet Kaur second and Kangna Sagar third.

Class V

  • 200-m race (boys): Abhijot Singh first, Gurjot Singh second and Krishmeet Singh third.
  • 200-m race (girls): Sukhneet Kaur first, Prabhnoor Kaur second and Gurleen Kaur third.
  • 100-m race (boys): Gurveer Singh first, Ridham Khullar second and Nukul Sachdeva third.
  • 100-m race (girls): Namanjeet Kaur first, Avnoor Kaur second and Harbeen Kaur third.
  • Rope race (boys): Mehtab Singh first, Ujjwal Singla second and Anhad Singh third.
  • Rope race (girls): Harneet Kaur first, Kulneet Kaur second and Sachi Kaur third.
  • Lemon race (girls): Gurmannatbir Kaur first, Harrasleen Kaur second and Aashima third.
