Mandi Ahmedgarh, Raikot, November 20

The administration claimed to have completed arrangements to ensure that electorates for legislative segments Raikot, Amargarh and Malerkotla are updated with zero tolerance and all eligible first-time voters, including residents with special needs, third gender citizens and non-resident Indians (NRIs), are enrolled without any harassment.

The administration has also urged all youths attaining 18 years of age as on January 1, 2021, to get themselves registered as voters during special booth-level camps scheduled to be held from November 21-22 and December 5-6.

While the Ludhiana and Sangrur administrations, led by Deputy Commissioners Varinder Kumar Sharma and Ramvir, respectively, claimed to have made arrangements for following the guidelines on the prevention of Covid-19 during scheduled camps, potential voters have been requested to get the needful done through an online helpline on the issue and National Voters’ Service Portal (NVSP).

Raikot SDM Dr Himanshu Gupta and Ahmedgarh SDM Vikramjit Singh Panthey said the administration had already started the process for electoral updating for legislative segments of Raikot, Malerkotla and Amargarh.

“Having received instructions from the Sangrur Deputy Commissioner, we have initiated a process for special summary revision for legislative assembly 105 and 106 in pursuance of guidelines of the Election Commission,” said SDM Panthey, adding that the revision work would be continued till December 15. — OC
