GADVASU appoints college deans

The Board of Management, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), gave its approval for appointing deans of various colleges.

The Board of Management has approved the names of Dr Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman as the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Dr Manish Kumar Chatli as the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Rampur Phul (Bathinda), Dr Meera D Ansal as the Dean, College of Fisheries, and Dr YPS Malik as the Dean, College of Animal Biotechnology.

Dr Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman has completed his four-year tenure as the Head of University Hospital Complex, GADVASU. He has 25 years of experience in teaching and research. He earned a PhD degree in animal reproduction from the University of Liverpool, UK, under the Commonwealth Scholarship. He has been associated with 21 research projects.

Chatli, a veterinary graduate from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, did his PhD from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Bareilly. He had undergone advance training in meat proteomic at the University of Kentucky, Lexington. He was the head of the Department of Livestock Products Technology for eight years. He has established various laboratories and pilot processing units at GADVASU.

Dr Meera D Ansal completed MSc and PhD from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU). She joined the PAU as an assistant professor (Fisheries) in 1999 and made significant contribution to teaching, research, extension and institutional development.

Dr Yashpal Singh Malik is serving as the ICAR-National Fellow at Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI), Izatnagar. A recipient of the prestigious ICAR Jawaharlal Nehru Award, Malik has developed several technologies and diagnostic kits and has two national patents to his credit. He has authored seven books and published around 227 scientific research articles in peer-reviewed journals of high impact.
