Food unit inspected

A food team of the Health Department, on the instructions of Dr Rajesh Garg, District Health Officer, inspected the premises of an unlicensed food manufacturing unit.

The said unit indulged in manufacturing ‘wadian’. About 10 quintal of food material was seized after taking samples on the suspicion that the products were expired, as the date of manufacturing was not mentioned on the label as well as it being misbranded on other parameters. It was directed to take the mandatory licence. Other food units were also checked and six samples were taken. — TNS
