Ludhiana, November 26

An employee of a Khanna-based company, Batra Enterprises, allegedly fled with Rs 40 lakh which the owner had told him to deposit in a bank on Thursday.

As per the company owner Gagan Batra, he had sent two of his salesmen to the bank to deposit the cash. On the way, the key accused asked the employee to get fuel filled in the vehicle, while the former stayed outside the petrol pump. The moment the employee entered the petrol pump, the accused employee sat in another car and fled from the place.

Station house officer Sikandar Singh said the accused employee, who fled with the cash, was employed a year ago by the owner and CCTV cameras had captured the way he fled from the place.

The SHO said efforts were on to nab the employee.
