FIR against 36 for roaming on road during curfew

Curfew violations continued to be seen on city roads and so is action against violators by the Ludhiana police. The police have started registering FIRs under the Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Disease Act, along with the stringent sections of the IPC.

Till last night, the police have registered cases against 36 persons. They were lodged in four open jails for a few hours.

The police zone 1 staff, led by ADCP I Gurpreet Singh Sikand, booked 10 persons on the charge of curfew violation. Those booked are Mohd Shamsher of Tibba Road, Sushil Jain of Madhopuri, Vanish, Naresh, Davinder, Shalu of Jassian Road, Simranjit of Dharampura, Gagan of Chawni Mohalla, Asha of Jawahar Camp and Lovekesh of Shivpuri.

The police zone 2 registered a case against 12 persons who were caught roaming on the city roads. No one could produce any curfew pass due to which they were arrested.

The police zone 3 registered cases against 10 persons, some were found roaming on road and the others had opened their shops. The Division 4 police registered similar cases against four violators.

The police exercise strictness from 6 am to 9 am while during the rest of the day, they have lenient approach.
