F&CC gives nod to 160 proposals

Ludhiana, June 24

The Finance and Contract Committee (F&CC) of the Municipal Corporation (MC) gave its nod to 160 proposals related to development and other works on Wednesday. Around 165 proposals were tabled before the panel today.

Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu said they had decided to form a committee to look into road projects. Now, questions are being raised whether officials concerned have prepared wrong estimates.

Senior Deputy Mayor Sham Sundar Malhotra said, “How can any contractor offer more than 25% less against the estimated rates for any road project. The matter needs a probe.” “A proposal for cleaning of sewers with super suction machine from Girja Ghar Chowk to Division No. 3 has been approved,” he added.

The F&CC has also given nod to purchase face recognisation attendance machines, to be installed at the MC offices. — TNS
