Doraha, August 4

Farmers of Doraha have decided to participate in ‘Chandigarh Chalo’ on August 5, a call given by five farm organisations of Punjab.

In a meeting of the All India Kisan Federation, presided over by Sukhdev Singh Kila Raipur, the farmers were asked to participate in the programme and turn it into a movement. The national president of All India Kisan Federation, Prem Singh Bhangu, said distribution of river waters under riparian laws and giving canal water to irrigate agriculture should be the prerogative of Punjab alone. The remaining water can be distributed as per need, he said.
