Ludhiana, June 14
Exporters in the city are finding it difficult to deliver their orders overseas due to the economic impact of Russia-Ukraine war. The exporters have raised concern over the rising prices of freight, long-queue of containers at the port, unavailability of containers in time-bound period etc.
Sameer Ralhan from Sri Tool Industry said majority of the exporters feel exhausted plugging one problem or the other. “The freight of 40-ft container, which was for $1,000 about two years back is now for $7,000 dollars.
“The government needs to pay attention to sort out the problems being faced by the exporters else we will be ruined.” said a garment exporter.
