Elderly man found dead in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, July 1

An elderly man was found dead near an electricity grid adjoining the Jawaddi bridge, here, on Friday. The deceased is yet to be identified.

The Model Town police reached the spot and shifted the body to the Civil Hospital.

The police said to ascertain the cause of his death, a post-mortem examination would be conducted. The deceased was wearing a white kurta-pyjama and he seemed to be around 70 years of age.

No identity proof or mobile phone was recovered from the body. The police said alert was sounded in all police stations of Ludhiana.

Youth’s body found in Moti Nagar

The body of a youth aged around 25 years was recovered from near MIG flats in Moti Nagar here.

Moti Nagar SHO inspector Kulwant Singh said residents claimed that they had seen the deceased consuming liquor on Thursday night and it seemed that he had consumed liquor in excess, which might be the cause of his death. Efforts were on to identify the deceased.
