Directors of immigration consultancy firm booked

Ludhiana, June 22

The Sarabha Nagar police have registered a case of cheating under section 420 of the IPC and section 24 of the Immigration Act against Ranjodh Singh and Ramandeep Kaur, both directors of Liberty Immigration Consultancy Service, having its office near Aastha Hospital in Ghumar Mandi here.

The police said Gurdev Singh, a resident of 74 HJ, Punjab Housing Board Colony, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, had lodged a complaint that the suspects had taken Rs 6.35 lakh from him on the promise of sending his son Harpreet Singh to Canada. “The suspects had failed to get immigration and other documents for sending his son to Canada and also refused to refund the money paid by him,” said Gurdev.

The police said in preliminary investigation, the allegations were found to be true and accordingly, a case was registered against the directors of the firm. No arrest has been made yet.
