Covid death toll 10 in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, June 7

One more person succumbed to Covid-19 today. Besides, eight positive cases were reported in the district.

The woman from Habib Ganj, who was admitted to Christian Medical College and Hospital on June 4, died last night. This is the 10th death due to Covid in Ludhiana district.

She had high creatinine level of 9.4 and needed dialysis. However, her family refused the same.

The Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga, said: “It was a case of renal failure. She required dialysis to which her family refused. She was also Covid positive. She died due to renal failure,” he said.

Meanwhile, those who tested positive today included a 40-year-old woman from Chowni Mohalla, a 35-year-old woman from Sehnsi Mohalla in Fieldganj, a 11-year-old girl and 13-year-old boy from Chandar Nagar.

The daughter of a Covid patient from Islam Ganj has also tested positive.

A 44-year-old man from Khanna also tested positive. Earlier, a doctor from Khanna who operated upon him had tested positive. The sister of a patient from Khanna also tested positive today.
