Ludhiana, November 19

An SAD councillor along with his supporters staged a protest against the Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana, and the Congress government in the state for delaying the re-carpeting work of 33 Feet Road in Ward No. 26. They sat on a dharna by blocking a portion of the road and also raised slogans against the government during the protest.

Councillor Surjit Singh Rai said the road had badly broken due to which mishaps were taking place on the broken stretch.

He said the MC had failed to start the road work despite their repeated demands. A number of persons, including children, had been injured in mishaps due to the broken road. He warned that if the MC did not start the road project within a month, they would stage a protest against the MC and the state government by blocking Chandigarh Road, Ludhiana.
