CMC performs 200 stem cell transplants

Ludhiana, November 19

The Department of Clinical Haematology at Christian Medical College and Hospital here has completed 200 stem cell transplants in patients. The department has started its journey in 2008.

To celebrate the milestone, a thanksgiving meeting was organised in which Dr M Joseph John, HoD and Professor, Department of Clinical Haematology, took the participants through the journey of stem cell transplantation.

Dr William Bhatti, Director, CMCH, also addressed the gathering. Dr SP Singh, Civil Surgeon, Ludhiana, was the chief guest for the event. Dr Singh emphasised the contribution made by the CMC in the overall development of Punjab citizens. Patients, who have undergone stem cell transplant, were the guests of honour. Cultural programmes and fun games were also conducted on the occasion.
