Ludhiana, September 15

Malwinder Singh Kang, general secretary of the state BJP, said the case registered against state president Ashwani Sharma was nothing but political vendetta by the ruling Congress government in the state.

He said he had enough evidence (videos and clips) to show how Congress MLAs/ministers were holding meetings/gatherings but no action was taken against them while the state government registered a case against the BJP president for violating Covid guidelines during a meeting recently.

Kang was in the city to meet new team members, core committee members and discuss the district-wise plan to show to people of the state how the Congress government had failed at each and every step.

Whether it’s hooch tragedy, mining, scholarship scam or corruption in the Excise Department, the Congress had failed at every front. The small fish was taken to the task while real culprits continue to enjoy all the privileges of the ruling party, Kang alleged.

He said a thorough probe should be conducted into all scams so that guilty persons were punished.

The BJP would hold district-wise programmes to put pressure on the government to take stern action against those involved in scams.
