Car catches fire near DMCH

Ludhiana: A car (Maruti A Star) parked near the DMCH caught fire on Friday afternoon. The car owner had come to the hospital for the check-up of his wife. Eyewitnesses suspected that dry leaves put on fire caused the fire. However, firemen said when they reached the spot, the car had been completely gutted. He said a short-circuit in the car's engine could be the cause of fire. The car owner, Naman Khanna, a resident of Phillaur, said he had come to the hospital to take medicine of his wife. By the time he took medicine and reutned to his car, he was shocked to see the vehicle completely gutted. He said apart from the documents of the car, other important documents were reduced to ashes. Disinfectant Machine donated

Ludhiana: A machine for spraying disinfectant in the city has been donated to the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (MC). Harpal Singh Nimana, media officer of Mayor, said industrialists Inderjeet Singh Deol and Jatinder Dhillon had donated this machine for city residents. They handed over the machine to Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu. After watching the machine demo, Sandhu ordered to purchase such machines for all four zones under the Ludhiana MC. TNS
