Bus runs over man, driver held

Ludhiana, June 15

A man, Shiv Raj (48), was run over by a bus of the Aman Transport Company on GT Road, near the Ladhowal toll plaza, on Monday.

The driver of the bus (PB-10DK-3571), identified as Tarsem Singh, resident of Daria village, Tanda, in Hoshiarpur district, has been arrested by the police.

According to complainant Kusind he and Shiv Raj were going towards Phillaur in an auto-rickshaw. “When the vehicle reached near Sarv Vyapak Ekjot Satsang Ghar just after crossing the toll plaza, some currency notes slipped from the hand of Shiv Raj and fell down. As Shiv Raj bent down to pick up the notes, the speeding bus ran over him, killing him on the spot,” said the complainant. — TNS
