Ludhiana, June 26

The BSNL Employees Union (BSNLEU), Ludhiana, organised a day-long dharna, demanding settlement of issues.

Avtar Singh Jhande, district secretary, BSNLEU, told the protesters that the inordinate delay in the launching of BSNL’s 4G service is severely hampering the company’s revival.

The tender floated by the BSNL to procure 4G equipment has been stalled as a result of the conspiracy hatched by vested interests. It is demanded that the Central Government should issue clearance to the BSNL to procure 4G equipment, as per the tender already floated.

He said the BSNLEU had been writing to the BSNL management, taking up various issues of the employees. However, none of the issue was being looked into by the management.

They demanded that timely payment of salary should be ensured every month.
