Ludhiana: Global Handwashing Day was observed by students by participating in various activities with great enthusiasm to achieve universal hand hygiene now and for the future. Principal JP Singh said, “The pandemic provides a stark reminder that handwashing is one of the simplest ways to prevent the spread of any virus and ensure better health outcomes overall.”

BVM, Udham Singh Nagar

To commemorate the 88th birth anniversary of former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the school organised many virtual activities. Rakesh Shukla threw light on the life of the great scientist focusing on his inspirational deeds. Tiny tots of Classes I and II showcased their creativity in the paper replicas of rockets with motivational quotes by Kalam.

BCM School, Basant Avenue

The school organised the opening ceremony of Youth Festival ‘Festiv-O-Pedia’ on Thursday with grandeur on a virtual platform. The three-day event was inaugurated in presence of members of LBCMF, Suresh Munjal, Trustee; Dr Prem Kumar, Executive Director, principals of sister concerns and many other dignitaries. Principal Vandna Shahi welcomed participants. The event would showcase the prowess of youngsters in various offline and online activities during the course of the festival i.e from October 15-17.

Guru Nanak International School

To mark National Student’s Day, the school reopened for students of classes X, XII with all safety precautions in place. A total of 98 students of Class XII and 40 students of Class X visited the school with the consent of their parents for clearing their doubts. Preliminary safety measures such as sanitation, installation of sanitisers at various places, marking circles to maintain proper distance, arrangement of equipment required for screening etc. were taken. Students were allowed to enter one by one in the marked circles only, maintaining proper distance. Only 10 students were made to sit in each classroom.

BVM, Kitchlu Nagar

Remembering the life journey of Missile Man of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, the school celebrated his birth anniversary. Honouring his legacy, students with their unstinted efforts showed splendid skills in poster-making, sketch-making and quotes-writing competitions. Reviving duties towards society and getting actively involved in the task of serving people with poor means, students demonstrated their benevolence and performed multiple functions constructing a cohesive and just society.

BVM, Chandigarh Road

The school celebrated the birth anniversary of former President APJ Abdul Kalam with enthusiasm and organised a wide array of virtual intellectual activities. Rachna, a teacher, in her speech revealed the struggling life, determination, dedication and sacrifices of the great man. To pay tribute to the great scientist, students of classes I to II came dressed as astronauts. Students of classes VI to VIII showcased their scientific and technological calibre through various posters, slogans, posters, models and craft items and presentation etc. Speeches were also made by students of VI- VIII highlighting the contribution of Dr Kalam.

Sacred Soul Convent Sr. Sec. School

The school celebrated World Food Day with gusto. To emphasise on the importance of a healthy diet, students decorated their plates with various fruits and vegetable salad, sprout salad, bhelpuri and sandwiches. Students were encouraged not to waste food and how to differentiate between fresh and stale food.

Blue Bells Public School

The school organised “Healthy cooking without fire competition” to mark World Food Day. Children along with their parents re-created unique toy train recipes. Talking about the celebration, Director, Harjinder Singh said, “Children who establish healthy lifestyle patterns at a young age will carry them and their benefits forward for the rest of their lives.” TNS
