Ashu takes stock of Smart City, development projects

Holds review meeting with DC, civic body commissioner

Punjab Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu reviewed the development issues with the Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma and MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal during a meeting held at Circuit House here today.

‘Take elected representatives into confidence’

  • During the meeting, Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu asked the officials to take the elected representatives into confidence while implementing welfare schemes of the government as well as executing development projects.
  • The development projects related to the Municipal Corporation and Ludhiana Smart City Ltd were also discussed at the meeting.

During the meeting, Ashu asked both the officials that all the elected representatives should be taken into confidence while implementing welfare schemes of the government as well as in development projects.

During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner and the MLAs discussed the strategy for carrying out the overall development of the district. Ashu said all welfare schemes of the Punjab Government would be implemented in the district on priority and all eligible beneficiaries would be covered under these schemes. The MC Commissioner also assured that all the development projects would be carried out in a transparent manner.

This meeting was also attended by Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh; Senior Congress leader Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu; Mayor Balkar Singh Sandhu and MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal. MLAs Rakesh Pandey, Amrik Singh Dhillon, Surinder Dawar, Gurkirat Singh Kotli, Kuldip Singh Vaid, Lakhbir Singh Lakha and Sanjay Talwar were also present
