Amritsar Sahib Club eves, Generals Club men emerge champions

First Open Punjab 3X3 Basketball Championship

Sri Amritsar Sahib Club and The Generals Club romped home as champions in the women and men sections, respectively, in the First Open Punjab Senior 3x3 Basketball Championship that concluded at Guru Nanak Stadium here.

In the women’s final, Sri Amritsar Sahib Club defeated Swag Ballers 21-13 whereas in the men’s category, The Generals Club overcame stiff challenge from Iconics before stitching up victory 21-20.

Warrior Club overwhelmed Punjabi Hoopers 21-8 to secure the third position in the men’s section and in the women’s group, Punjabi Cops Club edged out Khalsa Warriors 16-13 to finish at the third place.

The winners in both categories were given a cash prize of Rs 25,000 each while the first runners-up pocketed a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and the second runners-up got richer by Rs 10,000.

Office-bearers of the Punjab Basketball Association and those from the District Basketball Association, Ludhiana, besides coaches and players were present during the prize distribution function.
