Activists pledge support to fight Covid-19 pandemic

Office bearers and activists of various social organisations of the region today pledged to fully cooperate with the authorities in the fight against Covid-19.

The oath was taken in response to call made Ahmedgarh SDM Vikramjit Singh Panthey during the concluding function held by a local unit of Rotary Club to distribute PPE kits and masks among frontline warriors and people visiting various offices and public places.

Dr Ravinder Sharma presided over the function held under supervision of district governor Rajiv Garg and past district governor (PDG) Prem Aggarwal.

The SDM called upon residents to follow the government advisories to prevent the spread of Covid-19. SHO Amandeep Kaur and pharmacy officer Pardeep Sood received protective equipment to be used by frontline warriors in their respective departments.

Aggarwal said protective equipment worth Rs 80.25 lakh have been distributed through eighty clubs of Rotary District 3090. Earlier, during a function held at Mansa, Punjab Health Minister Babir Singh Sidhu was handed over 27 ventilators worth Rs 25 lakhs, 150 thermometers and 1,500 PPE kits for the civil hospitals of 11 districts of the state.

Now, 25 PPE kits and 3,500 masks were distributed among the frontline warriors and residents.
