Ludhiana, January 14

A day after AAP leader from the Dakha constituency has been booked for allegedly addressing a gathering in violation of the Election Commission (EC) guidelines, the city unit of the party raised questions and alleged it was a one-sided action taken by the commission.

‘Action against AAP leader one-sided’

Amandeep Singh Mohi, Ludhiana Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha in-charge, said Thursday’s action against AAP leader Subhash Verma from Dakha was one-sided and no action is being taken against meetings being held by rival political parties.

An FIR was registered against AAP leader Subhash Verma, who is a ticket aspirant from the Dakha constituency.

Amandeep Singh Mohi, Ludhiana Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Lok Sabha in-charge, while issuing a press statement said yesterday’s action against AAP leader Subhash Verma from Dakha was one-sided and no action was being taken against meetings being held by rival political parties.

He said: “The campaign is being carried out by Subhash Verma as per the guidelines of the Election Commission and the rival parties are worried as AAP leader is getting a huge response in villages.”

Meanwhile, Subhash Verma said while campaigning in villages he was following instructions of the Election Commission.

“Wherever I go for campaigning, people are reaching there and expressing their faith in the Aam Aadmi Party,” he said.
