8 test positive in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, July 29

Eight persons tested positive for Covid, while no death due to the disease was reported in the district today. The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has reached 97.55 per cent. Now only 48 active patients are there in the district.

Nine patients — eight patients from Ludhiana district and one from other states/districts — tested positive in the last 24 hours. The total number of patients belonging to Ludhiana is 87,292, while 11,606 patients belong to other districts/ states. The total number of persons who lost their lives to the disease is 2,093 from Ludhiana and 1,047 from other districts.

Till date, a total of 19,84,739 samples have been taken and reports of all samples have been received. As many as 18,85,841 samples were found negative.

Samples of 8,009 suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly.

Today only eight Covid patients were admitted to hospitals, three were on ventilator support and 32 were sent for home isolation.
