77 test positive for Covid; no death in Ludhiana

Seventyseven persons tested positive for Covid, while no casualty was reported today. The total number of positive patients reached 19,967.

Today, 13 persons were on ventilator support. Those who tested positive today included 15 persons who were referred from the OPDs, 36 undertrials, nine contacts of positive persons, six referred from flu corners, one health care worker and 10 persons who were being traced.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma today said that under the “Mission Fateh” of the Punjab Government, the number of Covid patients getting cured in Ludhiana district was increasing with each passing day. He said there are 258 active patients in the district at present.

He said till date, a total of 3,71,761 samples had been taken, out of which reports of 3,69,926 samples had been received, of which 3,47,279 samples were found negative, while reports of 1,835 samples were pending. He said now the total number of patients related to Ludhiana was 19,967.

He added that that whenever the district administration and the Health Department, Ludhiana, find any positive or suspected Covid person, their samples are immediately sent for testing.
