5-yr-old boy hit by school bus, critical

Ludhiana, January 18

A 5-year-old boy and his mother were hit by the bus of SGD Grammar School on Saturday. The boy identified as Sandeep Verma suffered serious injuries, while his mother also suffered minor injuries.

The boy is a student of the same school and is undergoing treatment at a hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical, while his mother is out of danger.

As per Sandeep Shukla, a resident of the area who helped the victim in taking them to the hospital, said Sandeep was a student of nursery class in the same school and his mother Reeta Devi had gone to receive him.

The woman and the child were heading home, when they were hit by the bus. Bus driver fled from the spot after the accident. The police then reached the spot and started probe.

As per information, the boy is a native of Uttar Pradesh and was living with his family at Makkar Colony at a rented accommodation. After the accident, the driver didn’t stop the bus but kept driving. As people gathered, the bus got stuck on the road, after which the driver managed to escape.

Notably, Dhananjay, a student of this school, had committed suicide recently due to “torture” by the staff. The police had then registered an FIR against the school teacher, Principal and director. Several protests were held outside the school to seek justice for the family.
