4 months on, police fail to make any recovery in 2-kg gold heist

Four months are about to pass when four robbers had looted over 2-kg gold worth over Rs 90 lakh, the Ludhiana Commissionerate is yet to nab the kingpin of the loot.

So far, the police have only arrested two accused in the case, Bhushan Kumar and Vishnu Soni, alias, Sam of Ganesh Nagar and recovered one pistol of .315 bore along with four live cartridges from Soni. Accused Sam was arrested by the Khanna police today. He, along with his four companions, had carried out a dacoity of 2 kg 100 grams of gold, on gun point, in Ludhiana on January 29.

His other co-companions Tajinder Singh alias Teja of Nawan Shehar, has already absconder in above said case, who went to jail many times in various cases of murder and quarrel.

The police team has so far failed to recover any gold. Notably on January 29, masked robbers barged into VK Jewelers in Ghumar Mandi, where they had held the owner and worker captive and looted gold.

On March 17, the police had claimed to solve the case with the arrest of Bhushan Kumar, but no gold was recovered from him. Gold was reportedly lying with the gangster whose whereabouts are still a mystery for the police.

A notorious gangster had planned the loot. Presently, the said gangster was living in Gurugram, along with his girlfriend. The Ludhiana police had also conducted raids at the whereabouts of the gangster in Gurugram, but both had reportedly escaped.
