32,251 kids given polio drops

Ludhiana, September 20

As the Sub-National Immunisation Day (SNID) round of pulse polio drive was launched in the district, as many as 32,251 children in the age group 0-5 years were administered polio drops on the first day.

The district health officials said teams of volunteers and para-medical staff covered 87,816 households and polio drops were administered to 22 per cent of the eligible children out of a total of 1,48,550 children in the district.

The Health Department had made 791 teams of volunteers who would cover 6.82 lakh households during the three-day Pulse Polio drive. — OC
