Three motorcycle-borne robbers, carrying sharp weapons, carjacked a Swift Dzire car from two youths near the MC Zone D office on Friday night. The car occupants were waiting for a Swiggy food delivery boy on road when the incident happened.

The SHO, Police Division No. 5, Neeraj Chaudhary, said the incident occurred at around 11 pm when two youths, namely Naman Garg, resident of Bharat Nagar Chowk, and Kush Verma, resident Cemetery Road, were standing near their car. Both youths had ordered food on Swiggy. They had parked their car near the MC Zone D office and were waiting for the delivery boy.

Three motorcycle-borne robbers came brandishing sharp weapons and snatched car keys from the youths. Two robbers fled in the car, while one on the motorcycle. The robbers also threatened the car occupants with dire consequences if they inform the police about the incident, the SHO said.

The SHO said the police, on getting information, reached the spot and started probe. The preliminary probe suggested that robbers were not known to the car occupants. “We are checking the CCTV cameras to find the out route the robbers took and soon they will be nabbed,” added the SHO.
