Ludhiana, July 6

The Sarabha Nagar police yesterday registered a case against three persons on the charges of stalking and criminal intimidation. One of the suspects was arrested by the police.

He has been identified as Gurvinder Singh, a resident of Ladhowal, while the other two suspects are Sonu and Joban, both residents of Hambran.

The complainant in the case, Ridhan Sood, told the police that on July 4 night, he along with his wife and grand father had went to watch a movie at Wave Mall on the Ferozepur road.

“When we were watching a movie, the three suspects started harassing my wife. When we came out of the cinema hall, the trio started passing lewd and objectionable comments at my wife. When I tried to stop them, they threatened me of dire consequences,” the victim’s husband said.

Later, when they raised an alarm, the police was called. Afterwards, one of the suspects was nabbed by the police.

Investigating officer ASI Hardeep Singh said a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered by the police against them. One of the suspects was nabbed and raids were on to nab the others.

It was not an isolated case in which some miscreants have targeted a family. Last month, a woman was harassed by some youths at PVR Cinemas in a mall on the Ferozepur road. Her family was also attacked by the miscreants.
